This just received from New Moves/Winter School -- curiouser and curiouser....

Happy New Year everybody,

We are just six weeks away from the Black Market International Winter School here in Glasgow. Some of you will be travelling great distances to be with us so we write to you today just to ensure you all have all the necessary details at your fingertips.

All of you posted here constitute Group 2 that will be based at the Ramshorn Theatre for the morning sessions. Due to a number of drop outs over recent weeks we will now be working with two rather than three groups; although there may still be some late enrollees, we will not go above15 participants in each group. Each group will have two main mentors assigned to them, with other members of BMI dropping in and out of your sessions over the five days. You must stay with the group to which you have been assigned.

The first day is a full day (1000-1800) in your own group, after that everyone will come together in the afternoon sessions for the talks and film programme at the Ramshorn, followed by evening performances, Wednesday to Friday, by artists especially invited by BMI as part of their residency with us. On the Saturday you will have the opportunity to see BMI in performance over ten hours, during which there will also be a critics forum in the upstairs space, to which you are also invited; all of this activity is included in your workshop fee.

Please arrive in good time on the first morning to register, someone from the festival will be there to greet you and introduce you to your mentors. All of you coming from outside of Scotland will have been pointed to a link on the website (visitor's Information) that has website leads to local accommodation. If you are having problems please do not hesitate to contact Colin in the office (cc'd here), he and Meryl will only be too happy to help you.

This is email is blind-copied to BMI, who will be in touch with you soon about the materials they wish you to prepare and bring with you - this may have changed since the original details were posted on the website. Please do not contact them directly, if you have any queries or concerns don't hesitate to contact us.

Most venues for the winter school are centrally based and everywhere is walkable, although SWG3 seems a little tucked out of the way near the river, it is still fairly central. It is an artist run space that consists of a series of studios and a very large space downstairs where they run clubs and allow events like ours to take place.

The New Territories programme with all the details is now online and can be downloaded as a pdf (www.newmoves.co.uk), we would be grateful if you could send this out to all your friends and colleagues and post it on your Facebook page if you have one. Sarah-Jane Grimshaw will be managing a blog during your week with us and everyone is welcome to contribute to it.

We look forward to meeting you all soon, I am sure you are as excited as we are to be involved in Black Market's residency here in Glasgow.

Best Wishes,

Nikki
